Twelve years ago, the first Buddhist masters to visit the Catholic nation of Ecuador planned a short one-week stay. 

Fast forward to the present, and not only are they still living there, but moved into one of the largest Buddhist temples in South America.

The morning after the 1st round of Presidential elections

 Ecuador will hold a runoff election to choose a successor for President Rafael Correa,
the country’s electoral commission ruled, in a vote being closely watched around Latin America.

The results on this Monday morning confirmed earlier indications that
 the governing party candidate, Lenín Moreno,
and a conservative former banker, Guillermo Lasso, 

would face off in a second round on April 2.
